LUMISPHÄRE ceiling system technology by Media Plus

Modular system ceiling for light, acoustics, sound and climate

LUMISPHÄRE is a light-based suspended ceiling system with a modular plug-in design. It creates a technical foundation for rooms that appear calmer and more functional. Acoustics, sound, and climate control can be integrated as optional features, depending on the project. The technology remains discreet; the effect is evident in the room. In series production and in use since 2023.

Why technology in a suspended ceiling must remain invisible

Many solutions appear convincing in the planning stage. In practice, however, they often create disruption, rework, and visible additional technology. When lighting, acoustics, sound, and climate are planned separately, dependencies arise. This leads to additions, modifications, and retrofits.

An integrated ceiling system prevents precisely this typical project spiral.

LUMISPHERE system structure: Fixed luminous ceiling, functions can be integrated optionally.

The standard feature is a luminous ceiling.

Optional integration options include: an acoustic ceiling to reduce reverberation and background noise; sound modules invisibly integrated into the ceiling; climate control preparation for external ventilation, cooling, and heating; and printed designs for aesthetics, branding, or room character.

This ensures a clear basic structure, and the system is only expanded where it makes sense.

Modular design for new construction and existing buildings

The LUMISPHÄRE system is configurable for specific projects and has a modular design. It is suitable for both new and existing buildings and can be expanded as needed without replacing existing components.

Existing building technology can be integrated without a complete replacement. This reduces technical risks and keeps future modifications manageable.

Overview of LUMISPHERE modules

The system ceiling consists of clearly defined modules that can be combined within the ceiling structure:

Light modules

• Uniform, glare-free light distribution

• Zoned illumination depending on use

Acoustic elements

• Reduction of reverberation

• Improved speech intelligibility in the room

Sound modules

• Invisibly integrated audio solution

• Even sound distribution without visible speakers

Preparation for air conditioning systems

• Integration of draft-free air distribution

• No visible equipment required in the room

This ensures the solution remains technically consistent.

Even if requirements increase later.

Formats, designs and module sizes of the LUMISPHERE

Depending on the room and design, the LUMISPHÄRE system can be implemented in round, square, or organic shapes. Recessed, surface-mounted, and suspended solutions are also possible. This allows the system to be precisely adapted to room size, ceiling height, and intended use.

To ensure that the LUMISPHÄRE system's dimensions are suitable from the outset, the pre-configured modules are clearly defined, combinable, and flexibly planned.

Smallest module (one-piece)

Width: 2468 mm

Length: 1268 mm

Height: 160 mm

Start and end modules:

Width: 2468 mm

Length: 1232 mm

Height: 160 mm

Center section:

Width: 2468 mm

Length: 1195 mm

Height: 160 mm

Set of 2: Start and end modules:

Width: 2468 mm

Length: 2464 mm

Height: 160 mm

Set of 5: Starter module + 3 middle modules + end module

Width: 2468 mm

Length: 6049 mm

Height: 160 mm

The modular configuration provides early planning certainty regarding budget, execution, and spatial impact.

The system remains flexible, even if requirements change later.

Why the LUMISPHERE remains economically viable in the long term

LUMISPHERE is not a collection of individual components.

It is a continuous system ceiling with a clear technical structure.

This reduces dependencies within the project and increases decision-making certainty.

The light distribution is efficient and uniform. Components are durable and require little maintenance.

This results in less rework, lower follow-up costs, and stable operation.

Implementation by Media Plus

Media Plus designs and manufactures the LUMISPHÄRE as a continuous ceiling system. Installation is carried out by Media Plus or a qualified specialist company, depending on the project. This ensures clear responsibilities and seamless implementation without any loss of quality.

Media Plus has been developing custom lighting solutions and integrated ceiling systems since 2008. Acoustic ceilings, sound modules, and pre-wiring for air conditioning are integrated as required by the project.

The air conditioning unit itself is not included in the LUMISPHÄRE system. It is sourced and installed externally by the client, depending on the project.
